Final Project Reflection

Overall I had a great deal of fun with this final project! The topic of pop culture amongst the internet is pretty vague, although it wasn't very hard to narrow down exactly what I wanted to talk about. First off, despite the fact that I consider myself to be rather knowledgeable about today's pop culture, there was still some level of research I had to complete. Most of this researching consisted of looking up specific dates like when apps and websites were first created. A lot of the other information found in the blog and podcast came from my own knowledge and knowhow about memes, vines and other internet trends.  Figuring out how I wanted to pair the podcast and blog post together was a bit tricky at first, but I managed to figure out after giving myself a little while to really think about it. I decided to create a basic transcript for the podcast first and then highlight key words and phrases that I talked about in the podcast. After this, I searched for images/links

The Evolution of Memes Among the Internet As mentioned in the blog podcast, most memes started out with a single picture with white font on the top and bottom of the page. Memes in this format are relatively easy to make and people stuck to using this format for quite some time before newer formats and themes were created. Today, this particular style is not used nearly as much as it used to be on mainstream sites, although a google search of the word "meme" will still bring up several other images like this.  Here is the popular music video to Rick Astley's "Never Gonna Give you up." At the moment that this blog post was written, the video has over 575 million views on Youtube and i'm sure that a portion of that has to do with it becoming an in

A Review of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate (for Nintendo Switch) By: Jordan Oglesby Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is an action-fighting game created by Masahiro Sakurai and is the fifth installment in the long running series. Compared to its several predecessors, this game comes jam packed with hours worth of content to discover and it truly earns the title of “Ultimate.” The Characters:  Super Smash Bros. as a whole has always been great at dishing out a large roster that many players young and old can enjoy; there’s a reason why many people in the video game community call it “the most ambitious crossover event to date.” With a roster of more than 80 playable characters, every single character that appeared in at least one previous game in the series makes an appearance, including those that are owned by entirely different studios. It can take several hours to unlock every single character (not including those that are included as paid downloadable content) which makes it all t
